JT Global Enterprise has successfully deployed it’s 500th Smart Retail store in the UK having completed major projects for two leading Retail customers. With many of these deployments, work was restricted to outside of normal trading hours and required each retail outlet to be fully functional to open for business the following morning. An additional challenge was that many of these deployments required all work to be carried out simultaneously in four or more locations. JT was able to repeatedly rise to the occasion by project managing and co-coordinating multiple teams and specialist partners in various locations.
As part of the delivery, the projects involved the installation and configuration of new routers, switches and cabling for numerous access points across several stores in different locations. In total up to 600 AP were deployed. These latest projects bring the total number of locations where the communications are managed by JT to more than 1000.
Stafford Hunt, Head of Product and Innovation at JT Global Enterprise said: “In order to help our retail business customers meet their customers’ demands of online shopping, we aim to deliver the best instore experience for their employees and their shoppers. This is achieved by combining best in class WiFi technology, modern last mile connectivity, and JT roaming SIMS for 4G backup. Our ability to provide a complete solution, covering the kitting out of the shop as well as the supply of the technology, ensures we deliver the best deployment experience possible.”
The technology used on the projects is part of JT’s Smart Retail portfolio and includes Cisco Meraki routers and access points supporting SD-WAN, Bluetooth beaconing, and location analytics.
